Apache FC to contest LAMSL Invitational Tourney

The Warriors will kick off the New Year in style, competing in the over-30s 2012 City of L.A. Municipal Sports Invitational Double Elimination Soccer Tournament.

The over-30s division will feature 10 teams, and a minimum of two matches ... two losses and a squad is eliminated.

Apache FC's first game will be 7 PM, Monday, Jan. 9 at Griffith Park, against Silverlake FC. A win will see the Warriors advance to Round 2 against Glendale United, Jan. 11 (Griffith Park, 7 PM), while a loss will drop the squad into the losers bracket for an 8:50 PM match Jan. 17 against the loser of Game 4 (Dinamo Lokomotiv vs FC Armenia Deportivo). Games which are tied at the end of 90 minutes will go straight to PKs to determine a winner.

Apache FC's roster is all yet-to-be-finalized but will include the team's first season allstar --  Carlos Guerrero -- between the posts, as well as a couple new prospects.

Stay tuned for more tournament details and announcements about upcoming training sessions.  Until then, stay fit.
