Kick for the Cure teams announced

Hey lads. Here is your official roster for the Kick for a Cure tournament in June. Myself, Rahoul and Mike B will be heading down Friday afternoon, the 17th. We have a small tradition of having an early dinner at a Mexican restaurant, then going to register, followed by a team movie outing. This year's movie will be 'The Hangover 2'. Of course you are ALL welcome to join. I hope you all do!!

As you know we are taking two teams down. Two teams that we consider "A" teams. We are going down to win TWO cups, not one. We take this very seriously. My brother, David, aka Puma will be coaching one squad, while I will oversee the other.

Now the Blake's 6 squad will be a little different. We will be re-naming that squad 'Blake's 6'. Blake was a 13-year-old kid who had the disease this tournament was started to to help fight. Unfortunately, he passed away late last year. We have adopted his name and will be playing in his honor. And it is an honor. His Mom and family, who live in Georgia, could not be more excited about us playing for Blake. His favorite color was purple but was always too shy to wear it because he thought he might be looked at as girly. So the men that we are, we will be wearing a special purple jersey, designed by Rahoul. We'll wear our regular shorts and socks.

This will also have the special logo Rahoul created for our new team name. You can read a full write up on our home page about Blake. The shirt was made by our friends at Niky's sports, and in return for sporting their logo on the sleeve, they have agreed to give us the shirts at cost. 7 bucks. The shirt will be yours to purchase and be a cool memento to keep after the tourney is done.

Our first practice will be THIS THURSDAY NIGHT MAY 12TH 8PM AT OUR SOL DEL VALLE COMMUNITY CENTER TRAINING FACILITY. Cost is 5 bucks per player. ALSO, WE WILL BE PRACTICING ON AN "INDOOR" CONCRETE COURT. This will totally benefit us in practicing the 6 v 6 format as well as with small goals. So bring your indoor boots or samba type shoes to this practice.
