APACHE FC BOWS OUT IN PLAYOFFS

June 29, 2011: Despite outplaying their opponents for a majority of the game, the Warriors dropped a disappointing 1-0 loss during quarterfinals action at John Ferraro to Los Andes after failing to overcome a first-half goal against the run of play.

While Apache FC generated numerous chances throughout the 90, posts, crossbars and an incredibly lucky Los Andes keeper kept the home side off the scoring sheet. Warriors Keeper Carlos Guerrero also was forced to make few spectacular saves as the clock ticked down and the Warriors were pushing up for the tying goal.

Ironically all four quarterfinal matches were decided by a goal with blue division's Hollywood United knocking off Dinamo Lokomotiv 4-3, and in the Red Division ... Martin Fierro (2) vs GOALFELLAS (1), FC Armenia Deportivo (6) vs Silverlagos (5).

The squad thanks its sponsor Apache Rentals and coach Billy Alarcon for bring the team through its first season with an impressive second-place finish and a regular season record of 8 wins, 1 tie and 3 losses.

The team now looks to the fall/winter season, with matches resuming in September.
