APACHE FC THANKS TOURNEY SPONSORS/ORGANIZERS

Apache FC thanks Kick for the Cure organizers for the opportunity to compete in this year's tourney, with one special squad being given the honor of playing for 14-year-old Blake Kuller, who passed away August 9, 2010 after leading an inspiring life with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Blake's 6 played in special purple jerseys (Blake's favorite color) with a logo designed for the event, to honor both Blake and his incredible family. (read more)  One of the jerseys is being given to Blake's mother following the tourney.

While results on the field did not see either Blake's 6 or Apache FC advance past the opening three-game round, both teams played with spirit and honor, especially in the match which saw Blake's 6 and Apache FC square off against one another.

Thanks go out to:

  1. our incredible sponsor Apache Rentals, which covered the teams entrance fees
  2. Nikys Sports, who provided the Blake's 6 special jerseys at a below cost rate for the team
  3. coach Billy Alarcon for organizing the two LA squads, as well as several off-tourney events
  4. coach David Alarcon for sticking with the tourney despite having sight issues
  5. all the players -- and their families and friends -- who took time out to be part of this special event
